For Mother's Day I will be selling flowers in vases and wrapped in paper for customers to take. Some of the arrangements will be specific flowers that start with a letter in the word Mother and will be accompanied with a small card saying the name of the flower and the meaning of that flower pertaining to motherhood.

Example:

M- mum white symbolizes pure love, loyalty

O- orchid symbolizes love

T- tulip symbolizes perfect love

H- Heather symbolizes protective power

E- eustomia commonly known as lisianthius symbolizes peaceful contented life

R- rose dark pink symbolizes thankfulness

Some of these meanings represent what our mothers have given to us others represent our feelings and wishes towards her. Will also have arrangements of spring flowers freshly cut from my garden.

My name is Janice Johnson and I moved to Buffalo in 2012 to be near family. All of my life I have had a passion for gardening and a fascination with the meaning of flowers. For years I have dreamed of having a flower business. Several years ago I purchased a home and started a large flower garden. For 2 years I have been selling flowers at a local farmers market.

Mimi's Posies is the name of my business. The flowers that I sell have been grown in my yard free of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Not only are those substances bad for the environment they are also bad for humans. An arrangement of flowers should draw you in to experience their sweet aroma. Each of my arrangements have aromatic flowers and or herbs.
